Capito is a little boy wearing a tailor-made suit. He is vivid, playful and full of ideas, yet can be convenient and calm at the right time.
The initial spark came from my dear colleague Björn when he was desperately looking for a sturdy and readable Serif typeface. I promptly started drawing, and realized soon that a steeper angle of the broad nib pen leads to heavier serifs and preserves the character and readability of classical serif letters. This reversed contrast is not an in-your-face feature of Capito, it’s rather subtle and just reversed enough to emphasize the horizontal flow.
Capito feels comfortable in Books and Magazines, but can be used for all imaginable tasks where a liveley seriousness is desired.
